We are eagerly awaiting Bonnie and Arlo's litter of puppies to arrive at the beginning of May meaning they will be ready for their new homes at the end of June/early July. After that we are planning ahead for Berry and Arlo's first litter of puppies some time in 2026.

  • Why are your puppies priced higher than others?
We understand that our puppies may be more expensive than some other breeders, but we and the many families who have bought puppies from us believe that it is worth it. Doing things the right way is expensive, and we refuse to cut corners. The price of our puppies reflects the knowledge, experience, reputation, and quality of the puppies we produce. We take great pride in the quality of our dogs and the service we provide to our puppy owners. As part of running a legitimate business, we are proud to go against the vast majority of breeders who avoid getting a license and breeding responsibly (see more information on "What makes a 5 star licensed breeder?" below). These breeders often pretend they do not run a business, which allows them to avoid taxes and cut other corners that could compromise the health and welfare of their dogs. Please bear this in mind when comparing our prices to those of other breeders. Our prices reflect the time, effort, and resources we put into each puppy, ensuring that you are receiving a well-rounded, healthy, and happy companion. We understand that there are cheaper options out there, but we believe our prices are a reflection of the extensive investment and dedication we put into every aspect of our breeding programme and encourage you to consider the full picture when choosing a breeder. Look beyond the price and assess whether other breeders provide the same level of care, commitment, and attention to detail that we do. We want to make sure you are making an informed decision and that you understand the lifelong commitment involved in raising a healthy, happy puppy. Here are a few reasons why our puppies may be priced higher than others: Commitment to Quality: We have invested both financially and emotionally in our breeding programme. We pour our heart and soul to the care and well-being of our dogs and puppies. This commitment ensures that our dogs receive the best care, and our puppies grow up healthy, happy, and well-socialised. Thorough Health Testing: We conduct extensive health testing on our breeding dogs, including genetic DNA testing (which includes testing for health, behaviour, coat, breed composition analysis and more), comprehensive BVA eye screening, and BVA hip/elbow x-rays. This helps us ensure that our dogs are free from genetic conditions that could be passed down to their puppies. Each of our puppies also receives a vet health check and a certificate to ensure they are in optimal health before going to their new homes. Immaculate Facilities and Care: Our 5 star license reflects our dedication to maintaining the highest standards in breeding practices, ensuring the puppies are raised in a safe, clean, and nurturing environment. This translates into healthier, happier puppies. Our puppies are raised in the best possible facilities, which are maintained in immaculate condition. We ensure that all of our dogs receive high-quality care, including premium food, supplements, and follow a preventative healthcare plan. We work tirelessly to maintain an environment where our puppies can thrive. Exceptional Veterinary Care: We work closely with a trusted group of vets who provide our dogs with top-tier medical care. This partnership ensures that both our breeding dogs and puppies receive the best possible healthcare. Extensive Socialisation and Preparation: Socialisation is key to the development of a well-rounded. We spend countless hours socialising and preparing our puppies for their new lives. By the time they are ready for their new homes, they are confident, thriving, resilient, and have been exposed to various experiences that help them adapt to different environments. High Level of Customer Service: We offer a very high level of service to our puppy owners throughout the entire process, from helping you select your puppy to answering any questions you may have after bringing your puppy home. We are always available to support our puppy owners, no matter how long it has been since they collected their puppy. 5-Star License: We have been awarded a 5-star license from Central Bedfordshire Council, which recognises the excellent processes and high welfare standards we uphold. This rating is a testament to the quality and dedication we put into our breeding programme. Commitment to Ongoing Professional Development: Having completed an OFQUAL regulated Level 3 Certificate in Dog Breeding, Pregnancy and Whelping, as well as Litter Socialisation and Care, we prioritise continuous education. This certification ensures that we provide the best care and expertise for both the puppies and their mothers throughout the breeding and whelping process.

  • Is the reservation fee refundable or transferrable?
The reservation fee is non-refundable. We view this fee as a commitment from you, showing that you are serious about adding a Bonnie Mini Doodles puppy to your family and are willing to work alongside us throughout the process. The non-refundable nature of the reservation fee also helps potential puppy owners ensure that adding a puppy to their lives is a well-thought-out, sensible decision before their name is added to our reservation list. Once your reservation fee is placed, you gain immediate access to our resources, including: Puppy Hub & Owners’ Community Private WhatsApp group for ongoing communication Comprehensive Puppy Pack to help you prepare for your new puppy By reserving a puppy, you have the security of knowing that a puppy is coming your way, and it enables us to plan litters responsibly with the knowledge that we already have committed homes. This helps us run a structured and well-organised breeding programme, allowing us to plan with confidence. The only caveat to this is if there aren't enough puppies born in your chosen litter. In which case the reservation fee is transferrable to a future litter. We also understand that from time to time things may arise outside of our control that means that a planned time is not going to be suitable to welcome a puppy into your home. In this instance the reservation fee is transferable to a puppy from a future litter. These terms ensure that we can manage our litters efficiently, secure homes in advance, and keep the reservation list well-organised.
  • Do I need to reserve a puppy in advance from a future litter if you don't have any puppies available right now?
Yes, in order to secure your spot on our waiting list, we highly recommend reserving a puppy in advance if you’re interested in one of our future litters. Due to high demand and the popularity of our puppies, we receive numerous enquiries almost daily. As such, we can only add people to our reservation list by following our thorough application process. Here’s how it works: Complete the Application Form: To get started, simply email us to request an application form. Fill this out online and submit to us for reveiw. During this process, we’ll ask you to provide details about your ideal time frame for bringing a puppy into your home. Review Expected Litters: You can stay updated on expected litters by visiting our ‘Litter Enquiries’ page, which will give you an idea of when puppies will be available. Reserving in advance ensures that you’ll have a place on our reservation list, and we’ll be able to connect with you when the next litter is planned or arrives. We recommend starting the process early to ensure you can welcome a Bonnie Mini Doodles puppy when the time is right for you. 🐶 Please note all successful applicants will be asked to follow the full application process, paying their holding fee/deposit upfront to ensure they have their space fully reserved. We cannot add you to our reservation list without this.
  • What if there aren't enough puppies born in the litter?
The number of reservation slots per litter is carefully planned based on the average or previous litter size, as well as the information we get from the pregnancy scan. While we use a very experienced sonographer to give us the most accurate predictions possible, it’s important to understand that pregnancy scans on dogs can be complex due to the conformation of the female’s reproductive organs and the presence of multiple foetuses. Despite our best efforts, it's simply not possible to guarantee how many puppies will be born. With that in mind, we ask that you manage your expectations carefully, especially when it comes to your children’s expectations. It is always down to Mother nature, and occasionally we might not get the outcome that we were expecting. What if the litter size is smaller than expected? While we do everything we can to plan ahead, sometimes nature doesn’t cooperate. Unfortunately there may be situations where the mother either doesn’t conceive or has a smaller litter than anticipated. Unfortunately, there’s nothing we can do to control this outcome. What happens next? If there aren’t enough puppies in the litter, we will work together to move you to a future suitable litter. If the mother doesn’t conceive, we will try again at her next season. We genuinely appreciate your patience and understanding in such situations as we do want to disappoint you. We know it can be hard, but we encourage you to remain positive. The waiting time, whether it’s a few months or up to a year, will be worth it and will pay off in the long run with your new family member! In the meantime, you can use this waiting period to educate yourself, prepare your home, and get everything organised for your puppy’s arrival. We’re here to help you every step of the way!
  • How do I choose my puppy and will we get my preferred colour and sex?
At Bonnie Mini Doodles, we believe that choosing the right puppy for your family goes far beyond just selecting based on color or gender. While we do our best to take these preferences into account, we focus on the individual personalities and needs of each puppy, ensuring that every match is thoughtful, considered, and in the best interest of both the puppy and the family. Of course, we understand that sometimes a preference like sex can be non-negotiable if there are already other resident dogs in your home, but as our puppies grow and develop, we spend a lot of time observing their behaviours and how they react to various situations and stimuli. This allows us to create a detailed “profile” for each puppy. Every puppy is an individual, with unique traits and temperaments, and we work hard to ensure that each one is matched to the family that suits them best. We assess puppies on factors such as their energy levels, confidence, and sociability to ensure that they are placed in the right home. For example, a more outgoing puppy might do well in a busy, active home, while a quieter, more laid-back puppy may be better suited to a calm environment. In order to make the best match, we get to know you as well. We ask you to fill out a detailed application form where we learn about your family dynamics, experience with dogs, lifestyle, and expectations. Additionally, we will speak with you in detail over a puppy consultation video call to discuss your specific needs and preferences and go through your application in detail. This helps us understand your expectations and lifestyle and creates a profile for your family as well, allowing us to align your needs with the right puppy. By taking into account behaviors and expectations rather than just superficial factors like color or gender, we’re able to ensure that you are given the best possible match. This approach has been very successful for us, and we’ve helped many families find their perfect puppy, leading to long-lasting, successful matches. Ultimately, our goal is to place the right puppy in the right home, ensuring that everyone, both puppy and family, has the best start possible.
  • Can I reserve the puppy that 'chooses' me?
It’s not uncommon for families to get excited when a puppy runs over to them during a visit, and it can feel like a sign that the puppy has "chosen" them. However, this is more about the puppy’s current energy level and social tendencies than anything deeper. The puppy who runs over first is simply the one who feels more energetic and social at that very moment. It doesn’t mean that they’re going to form a special bond with you, nor does it indicate that this puppy is the perfect match for your family. In fact, give it a few hours, and it could be a completely different puppy who’s eager to make a connection! Every one of our puppies is capable of developing a special bond with their new family, and we carefully match them based on their individual personalities and your family’s lifestyle. We want to ensure that the puppy you bring home is the right fit for you, and it’s not about the initial excitement of a puppy running over to you. Remember, choosing the right puppy is about ensuring a long-term match based on temperament, energy level, and lifestyle compatibility, rather than a fleeting moment of excitement. Every puppy has the potential to become a loving, loyal companion, and we work closely with you to ensure you’re matched with the one that fits your needs best!
  • When are the birth, visit and collection dates?
We provide estimated dates for puppy births, visits, and collections on the 'Litter Enquiries' page of our website. These dates are initial estimates and are subject to refinement as more information becomes available, particularly once we know the exact timing of the mother’s season (the period when we are actively trying for puppies) and her rest season (when we are not trying for puppies). Please keep in mind that exact dates for birth, visit, and collection will only become more certain once the mother is in her season. At this point, we can refine the estimates and provide you with more specific dates, including when you can expect to visit and collect your puppy, so you can plan accordingly. These dates will only be finalised once the puppies are born, as there are many natural factors that can affect the timing. We highly recommend keeping a flexible schedule when you're on a reservation list for a puppy, as we are working with nature’s timeline, and there can sometimes be unexpected changes. We will endeavour to keep you updated every step of the way when planning a litter so you can have a rough idea of when we will be expecting puppies to be born and when they will be ready for their new families. As a general rule of thumb, once the pregnancy is confirmed at around 28-30 days from the last mating, puppies are likely to be born around 4-5 weeks later. Once the are born we will organise puppy visits when they reach 4 - 5 weeks of age. This is only open to confirmed puppy families on our reservation list; we do not open our home to just anyone (please see more on this in the section below). We then invite families back once the puppies reach 6 - 7 weeks of age where we will discuss our Puppy Profiling with you. The puppies will then be ready for their new homes once they are 8 weeks old. We understand that planning holidays and annual leave can be tricky, so we truly appreciate your patience and understanding as we work to ensure everything runs smoothly. Thank you for being flexible!
  • Can we visit with our children?
In order to keep our puppies safe, we do not allow visitors under 10 years old. Our space is limited, and we've had near accidents with children getting over-excited and nearly sitting on or dropping puppies in the past so this is a decision we have taken to protect our litters and one that we will not be compromising on. We appreciate your understanding and hope you can respect this policy to ensure the safety and well-being of everyone involved. Thank you!
  • Can I collect my puppy sooner than the collection date at 8 weeks?
No, we do not allow puppies to be collected before they reach 8 weeks of age. It is essential for puppies to stay with their mother and littermates until they are at least 8 weeks old to ensure they are properly socialised and have developed the necessary skills for a happy and healthy life in their new home. The first 8 weeks of a puppy’s life are crucial for their development. During this time, they learn important socialisation skills from their mother and littermates, which helps them build confidence and learn important life lessons. Removing them too early can lead to behavioural and emotional issues later in life. Additionally, under the Animal Welfare Act legislation, puppies must stay with their mother and littermates until they are at least 8 weeks old. This is a legal requirement that ensures puppies receive the proper care, socialisation, and development before leaving their breeder. For the well-being of the puppies and to give them the best start in life, we adhere strictly to the 8-week rule for collection. We greatly appreciate your understanding in this matter and trust that you'll find the wait well worth it for the happy, healthy, and well-adjusted puppy that you'll be taking home!
  • Can you keep my puppy beyond the normal collection date of 8 weeks?
We understand that sometimes plans change, and you may not be able to collect your puppy on the scheduled date. While we prefer puppies to be collected at 8 weeks, we may offer a boarding service on a case-by-case basis if we do not have holiday plans ourselves. Boarding Service: Cost: £150 per day (up to 2 weeks) Includes: Loving care in a familiar environment, socialisation, training and daily updates. Please inform us as soon as possible if you need this service. We kindly ask that you keep some annual leave available for the collection date. Thank you for understanding!
  • Am I able to breed from my puppy in the future?
No, our puppies are sold with a spay/neuter/non-breeding agreement in place that both parties will sign. This agreement ensures that our breeding program remains responsible, ethical, and sustainable. We are committed to maintaining the highest standards of breeding practices, and part of this is ensuring that only selected, health-tested dogs are used for breeding. Failure to adhere to this agreement may result in legal action being taken. We kindly ask that you respect these terms to help us protect the integrity of our breeding program and the well-being of all our dogs. If you have any questions about the agreement or breeding, please don't hesitate to reach out to us. We are happy to discuss this in more detail.
  • How much does it cost to keep a Goldendoodle?
Owning a Goldendoodle is a rewarding experience, but it also comes with some financial responsibilities. Here’s a breakdown of the typical costs associated with caring for a Goldendoodle, including food, grooming, insurance, training, and essential treatments like worming, flea, and tick prevention. Feeding Feeding your Goldendoodle is an ongoing monthly expense. Depending on their size, age, and activity level, the cost of feeding your dog high-quality food will be around £70 to £80 per month. Premium dry kibble or raw food options are recommended to maintain their health, but portions should be adjusted based on your dog’s specific needs. Grooming Goldendoodles require regular grooming due to their wavy or curly coats. Professional grooming is typically needed every 6-8 weeks, and each grooming session costs around £60. Regular grooming is essential to keep their coats in good condition and free from matting. Insurance Pet insurance is essential for covering unexpected vet bills, illnesses, and accidents. The average cost of insurance for a Goldendoodle is about £35 to £40 per month, depending on the type of coverage you choose. Bear in mind the price of insurance increases yearly, particularly if you have made a claim. Training Training your Goldendoodle is key to ensuring they grow into a well-behaved companion. Basic obedience classes generally cost around £100 per month, though this price can increase if you opt for private lessons, advanced obedience, or behavior training. It's an investment in your dog's long-term well-being. Worming, Flea, and Tick Treatments Worming, flea, and tick prevention are essential for keeping your Goldendoodle healthy and free from parasites. The cost for these treatments will vary, but here’s an estimate: Worming treatments: Typically administered every 3 months, costing around £10 to £15 per treatment. Flea and tick treatments: These are usually given monthly and cost about £10 to £15 per month, depending on the brand and type of treatment you choose. Summary of Monthly Costs: Feeding: £70–£80 per month Grooming: £60 every 6-8 weeks (approx. £15–£20 per month) Insurance: £35–£40 per month Training: £100+ per month (depending on your choice of training) Worming, Flea, and Tick Treatment: Approx. £10–£30 per month (depending on the type of treatment) Total Monthly Costs: You can expect to spend approximately £230 to £270 per month to care for your Goldendoodle, factoring in feeding, grooming, insurance, training, and essential treatments. Keep in mind that these costs can vary depending on your location, your dog's needs, and any additional veterinary care that may be required. While Goldendoodles do require a bit of financial investment, their loving nature, intelligence, and companionship make them truly worthwhile!
  • What is a Goldendoodle's temperament like?
Goldendoodles are known for their friendly, affectionate, and intelligent nature, making them one of the most popular hybrid dog breeds. Their temperament combines the best traits of their parent breeds - the Golden Retriever and the Poodle - creating a well-rounded, lovable companion. Here’s a closer look at the typical temperament of a Goldendoodle: Friendly and Social Goldendoodles are highly social dogs that thrive on human interaction. They are incredibly affectionate and enjoy being around their family members. Whether you’re at home or out for a walk, a Goldendoodle is likely to greet everyone with a wagging tail and a happy disposition. Their friendly nature makes them excellent family pets, and they tend to get along well with children, other dogs, and even cats! Intelligent and Eager to Please Goldendoodles inherit their Poodle’s intelligence and their Golden Retriever’s desire to please, making them highly trainable and eager to learn. They excel in obedience training and are quick to pick up new commands and tricks. This intelligence and willingness to please also make them ideal candidates for various roles, including therapy and assistance dogs. They thrive on mental stimulation, so providing them with excellent training, and engaging activities like scent work is essential for keeping them happy. Gentle and Patient Goldendoodles are typically gentle and patient, especially with children and smaller pets. They are known for their calm demeanor, making them a great choice for families with young children or other pets. Their Golden Retriever lineage contributes to their gentle nature, while the Poodle side adds an element of bouncy curiosity. Playful and Active While they have a calm and affectionate side, Goldendoodles also have a playful and bouncy streak. They are energetic and enjoy activities like fetch, swimming, and running. They make excellent exercise partners, and many Goldendoodles love outdoor adventures. Despite their high energy, they are usually not hyperactive and can easily settle down for some relaxation once they've had their daily playtime. Loyal and Protective Goldendoodles are very loyal to their families and form strong bonds with their owners. While they are not typically aggressive, their protective instincts can kick in when they sense something unusual. They may bark to alert you to strangers or unfamiliar noises, but they are not known to be overly protective or territorial. Affectionate with a Fun-Loving Personality Goldendoodles are often described as the "ultimate companion dog" because they enjoy being with their families and love to be involved in everything. They often follow their owners from room to room and will happily curl up next to you for snuggles. Their playful, loving personalities make them great therapy dogs as well as family pets. Summary: A Goldendoodle’s temperament is characterized by being: Friendly and social Affectionate and gentle Intelligent and easy to train Playful and energetic Loyal and protective, but not aggressive Whether you're looking for a dog that loves to play and exercise, or a loyal companion who enjoys quiet time at home, the Goldendoodle is a wonderful choice. Their mix of traits makes them one of the most well-rounded and lovable dog breeds around!
  • What Is a multi generation Miniature Goldendoodle?
An F3 Multi-Generation Goldendoodle refers to a Goldendoodle that is the result of breeding between a Goldendoodle from multiple generations with either another Goldendoodle or a Poodle or Retriever. You can read all about what makes a Goldendoodle by clicking here but in summary, an F3 Multi-Generation Goldendoodle is a third-generation Goldendoodle that comes from breeding multiple generations of Goldendoodles, which helps ensure more predictable traits in terms of coat, personality, and health. This type of breeding is particularly aimed at refining the qualities that make the Goldendoodle a popular family companion, such as being hypoallergenic, low-shedding, and having an affectionate and intelligent temperament.
  • Should I expect a perfectly trained puppy?
Absolutely not! Puppies are puppies, and while we do everything we can to give them the best start, they will still act like little puppies figuring out the world. They will get into mischief, nibble on hands and anything you leave out, toilet on the floor, and test boundaries as they grow and learn. It’s all part of the process! While we focus on providing a solid foundation through early training and socialisation, the key to shaping a well-behaved adult dog lies in your ongoing commitment and dedication to training. Our goal is to give you a head start by introducing essential behaviours and routines, but continued learning and structure will be needed to help your puppy grow into the dog you want them to be. We highly recommend enrolling your puppy in carefully selected group puppy classes. These classes offer valuable socialisation opportunities with the right trainer and provide guidance on reinforcing what we've already started. Working with a positive reinforcement trainer is a fantastic way to continue building on the training we’ve laid out. They’ll help you fine-tune your puppy’s skills and further develop good habits while keeping training fun and engaging. Remember, commitment, patience, consistency, and love are the foundations of training a puppy. With your time and dedication, your puppy will grow into the wonderful, well-behaved companion you envision.
  • What is their coat like?
Goldendoodles are known for their beautiful, hypoallergenic coats, which come in different types depending on the genetics of the individual dog. The texture and appearance of a Goldendoodle’s coat can vary widely, but generally, there are three main coat types that are most common in the breed. Bonnie has produced a mix of wavy and curly coat types in her previous litters. For our upcoming litter from Bonnie and Arlo, we anticipate more wavy coats due to their genetics and breeding. Looking ahead, when Berry is paired with Arlo in the future, we expect that their puppies will also have wavy coats, as both parents possess this coat type. Whether you’re looking for a wavy, curly, fleece, or wool coat, we take pride in raising puppies with the coat types that suit our families' needs and lifestyles, while ensuring they are well-socialized, healthy, and happy companions. Fleece Coat = Wavy The wavy coat is one of the most common and desired coat types in Goldendoodles. It is characterized by soft waves that give the coat a gentle, flowing appearance. This coat type is often considered a happy medium between the silky straight coat of the Golden Retriever and the curly coat of the Poodle. It tends to be low-shedding and hypoallergenic, making it a great choice for allergy sufferers. Wavy-coated Goldendoodles require regular grooming to prevent matting, but their coat is generally easier to manage than a curly coat. Wool Coat = Curly The curly coat is very similar to that of a Poodle, with tight, dense curls that form a soft, fluffy texture. This coat is highly hypoallergenic because the curls trap shedding hair within the coat, which means it doesn't end up all over your house. While this makes it ideal for people with allergies, it also requires a bit more maintenance. Curly coats need frequent grooming to keep them from matting, and many curly-coated Goldendoodles benefit from regular professional grooming sessions to maintain their coat’s health and appearance. The curls tend to give Goldendoodles a more “classic” Poodle look. Flat Coat = Straight The straight coat is less common in Goldendoodles, but it does occur when a Goldendoodle inherits more of the Golden Retriever’s genetics. This coat is soft and shiny, resembling the Golden Retriever's fur more than the Poodle’s. Straight coats tend to shed more than wavy or curly coats, and they may not be as hypoallergenic. However, they are easier to groom and maintain compared to curly coats. While straight coats are beautiful, they require more attention in terms of brushing to prevent tangles and matting. Summary: Fleece Coat: Soft, gentle waves, low-shedding, hypoallergenic, easy to manage with regular grooming. Wool Coat: Tight, dense curls, highly hypoallergenic, requires frequent grooming and maintenance to prevent matting. Flat Coat: Soft and shiny, may shed more, requires regular brushing to keep clean but less maintenance than curly coats. When choosing a Goldendoodle, understanding the different coat types and how they fit your lifestyle and grooming preferences is important. Each type has its own set of needs and characteristics, but no matter the coat type, Goldendoodles are known for being affectionate, friendly, and loyal companions.
  • Are Goldendoodles suitable for allergy sufferers?
Yes, a multi-generation Goldendoodle can be a great choice for allergy sufferers, but it's important to understand the details. Goldendoodles, particularly those bred from multiple generations tend to have more consistent coat types, such as wavy or curly coats, which are less likely to shed compared to those of their Golden Retriever ancestors. The hypoallergenic nature of Goldendoodles comes from their Poodle lineage. Poodles have a low-shedding, curly coat that helps trap dander, which is one of the main triggers for allergies. When bred correctly, Multi-Generation Goldendoodles often inherit this low-shedding, hypoallergenic coat, which can be more predictable than first-generation crosses (F1). However, it's important to note that no dog is truly 100% hypoallergenic. While Multi-Generation Goldendoodles are known for being better suited for people with allergies, individual dogs may vary in how much they shed or produce dander. If you're considering a Goldendoodle and have allergies, it's a good idea to spend time with the specific puppy or dog before committing, just to ensure they’re a good fit for your needs. In general, Multi-Generation Goldendoodles are one of the best options for allergy sufferers who are seeking a dog that sheds minimally and is less likely to trigger allergic reactions.
  • How big do your puppies get when they reach adulthood?
When we describe our Goldendoodle puppies as miniature, we mean they will grow to be medium-sized dogs, not the tiny "toy" size that some might expect. Poodles come in three recognized sizes: toy, miniature, and standard. Our breeding lineage focuses on the miniature size, which is why our puppies typically fall within the medium-sized range. As adults, our Miniature Goldendoodles will stand between 16 inches and 22 inches at the shoulder, with an expected weight range of 14kg to 22kg, making them the perfect size for families looking for a dog that's not too small and not too large. They strike a great balance between being compact enough for easy handling, but still sturdy enough to enjoy outdoor adventures, walks, and playtime. This medium size also makes them ideal companions for those who want a Goldendoodle's lovable personality and hypoallergenic coat, but without the larger size of a Standard Goldendoodle.
  • What are the grooming requirements for a Miniature Goldendoodle?
While their coats are hypoallergenic and low-shedding, they do require regular grooming to keep them healthy, tangle-free and comfortable, and looking their best. Here’s what you can expect in terms of grooming: Regular Grooming Appointments To maintain your Goldendoodle’s coat, it’s important to keep up with professional grooming appointments every 6–8 weeks. During these appointments, your groomer will trim and shape your dog’s coat, as well as take care of any matting that may have developed. The cost for each grooming session typically costs around £50-£60. Regular grooming will help keep your dog’s coat manageable, especially as they grow. Grooming can also include nail trimming and teeth cleaning at an extra cost of around £50. Daily Brushing While regular grooming appointments are essential, daily brushing is key to keeping your Goldendoodle’s coat in top condition. Goldendoodles, especially those with thicker, wavier, or curlier coats, can develop mats and tangles if not brushed regularly. By brushing your dog every day, you can significantly reduce matting and knotting, making your grooming sessions easier and more effective. A detangling spray can help ease through any stubborn tangles, but it's crucial to stay on top of brushing, especially if your dog’s coat is on the longer side. The longer you let the coat grow, the more care it will require to prevent it from becoming tangled or matted. At home we use a slicker brush followed by a comb to ensure we are getting right to the roots. Getting Your Puppy Used to Brushing While we start habituating our puppies to the grooming process before they leave us, it’s important to continue grooming your puppy at a young age. Introduce your puppy to grooming gently and consistently, so they become familiar with the process. This early exposure will help them grow into a dog that is comfortable with going to the groomers on a regular basis, making the whole process much easier as they get older. Summary In conclusion, Goldendoodles require a moderate amount of care in terms of grooming. Keep up with professional grooming every 6–8 weeks, brush your dog daily to avoid matting, and use a detangling spray for easier brushing. The earlier you start grooming your Goldendoodle puppy, the easier it will be to maintain their beautiful coat throughout their life.
  • What is the best way to contact you?
If you’re looking for an instant answer to your question, we highly recommend first checking through our FAQ section. We’ve compiled answers to the most common questions we receive, and it's likely you’ll find the information you need there. Due to the volume of enquiries we receive across many different channels, email is the best way to contact us. Using email allows us to keep track of all communications in one place, ensuring we can provide you with the best service possible. Phone calls, text messages, and social media messages can sometimes be unreliable, and we often end up with messages scattered across different platforms, which makes it harder for us to keep track of who we've spoken to. We kindly ask for your patience and understanding, as we both have full-time jobs. Our long working hours often mean we don’t get home until after 8:00 pm most evenings, making it challenging to monitor emails throughout the day. However, we make a conscious effort to stay on top of them during the week and aim to return all emails within 2 weeks. Please note that during busier times, such as when puppies are being born, or at peak periods, response times may take a little longer. We greatly appreciate your patience and understanding, and we thank you for bearing with us!
  • What testing and screening do you do prior to breeding?
At Bonnie Mini Doodles, health is one of our top priorities along with temperament. We are dedicated to ensuring that all our breeding dogs undergo thorough health testing to maintain the highest standards and to produce healthy, happy puppies. Below is an overview of the health testing protocols we follow to ensure the well-being of both our adult dogs and their future puppies. DNA Health Testing All of our breeding dogs undergo full DNA testing to ensure they are clear of any hereditary diseases associated with the Goldendoodle breed. By performing these tests, we confirm that our dogs do not carry any of the genetic conditions that could affect their health or the health of their puppies. This proactive approach ensures that we can offer our future puppy families peace of mind knowing that their new puppy has been carefully bred to avoid common hereditary diseases. Yearly Clinical Eye Examinations Our breeding dogs also undergo yearly clinical eye exams to detect any inherited or non-inherited eye conditions. These tests identify both congenital (conditions present from birth or shortly after) and non-congenital (conditions that develop later in life) eye diseases. We are pleased to report that all of our breeding dogs have very healthy eyes, ensuring their puppies are less likely to inherit any eye problems. BVA-Certified Hip and Elbow Scanning While Bonnie has not undergone BVA-certified hip and elbow scans, we are committed to ensuring the health of future generations. Berry's hip and elbow scans are coming up soon, and we will continue to perform these scans on all future breeding dogs. These tests are crucial in assessing joint health and reducing the risk of conditions like hip and elbow dysplasia. Hip Scoring: Dogs are hip-scored on a scale of 0-106 (53 per hip), with a score of 20 or below being considered acceptable for breeding. This helps us ensure that our dogs have a healthy hip structure, which contributes to their overall mobility and well-being. Elbow Scoring: Elbows are scored on a scale from 0-3, with 0 being perfect. Dogs with scores of 2 or 3 are not used for breeding, as they are at a higher risk of developing elbow dysplasia. Arlo’s Health Record We are pleased to introduce Arlo, a gorgeous red F1B Miniature Goldendoodle stud dog in our breeding program. Arlo has an excellent health record, and we are confident in his ability to pass on positive traits to his puppies. You can read all about Arlo by clicking here. Bonnie's Family Health History While Bonnie has not undergone the BVA-certified hip and elbow scans, we have an in-depth understanding of her family history and are very familiar with the health of her lineage. Bonnie comes from a line of dogs that are in excellent health, which played a significant role in our decision not to undergo the scanning for her at this time. We believe that Bonnie’s exceptional family history supports her continued health. Early Testing for Accurate Results We test our dogs early in life to minimise the impact of environmental factors and ensure the most accurate results possible. Early testing gives us valuable insights into each dog’s genetic health and helps us make informed breeding decisions to reduce the risk of passing on any health issues. We believe that health is essential to the success of our breeding program, and we take all necessary steps to ensure our dogs are as healthy as possible. From DNA health testing to yearly eye exams, hip and elbow scoring, and thorough knowledge of our dogs' family health histories, we are committed to breeding healthy puppies with the best start in life. By using these tools, we are confident in our ability to breed dogs that are strong, healthy, and happy, with the best chance of living a long and healthy life.
  • What makes you a 5 star licensed breeder?
Did you know that as of 2018, it became a legal requirement for anyone selling puppies in the UK to hold a valid breeding license. However, many breeders and local authorities may misinterpret this requirement, leading to confusion about what constitutes responsible breeding practices. We are proud to be a 5-star licensed dog breeder with Central Bedfordshire Council, which is a recognition of our commitment to upholding the highest standards of care, welfare, and responsible breeding practices. This 5-star rating is not only a reflection of our compliance with the law but also our dedication to ensuring that our breeding practices meet the highest and strictest animal welfare standards. We believe this certification sets us apart, highlighting our ongoing efforts to maintain a safe, healthy, and supportive environment for our dogs while being transparent and responsible with every step of the breeding process. This level of care and dedication is something we take great pride in, and we are committed to continuing to raise healthy, well-socialised puppies in an ethical and responsible manner. Here's what sets us apart and what earned us this 5-star rating: Strict Compliance with Regulations: We operate in full compliance with the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) (England) Regulations 2018, ensuring that we meet all legal requirements for breeding and animal welfare. This includes maintaining up-to-date records, ensuring proper housing and socialisation, and providing the highest level of care for all of our dogs. Commitment to Health and Welfare: Our breeding practices are centred around the health and wellbeing of our dogs. We perform comprehensive DNA health testing for all breeding dogs to screen for hereditary diseases, and we conduct regular clinical eye exams and are planning ahead for hip and elbow screenings to assess their overall health. This ensures that we are breeding healthy dogs that will pass on strong genetics to our puppies. Socialisation and Early Development: From day one, Bonnie is a doting mother to her puppies. Not only that but our puppies are raised in a nurturing environment that prioritises early socialisation and confidence-building activities. We use Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS) from 3 days old and work on essential skills such as clicker training, toilet training, and touch and noise desensitisation. Our goal is to raise well-rounded, happy puppies who are ready to thrive in their new homes. Transparency and Ethical Practices: We maintain transparency in all aspects of our breeding program. We follow a strict application process for potential puppy owners, ensuring that our puppies go to homes that are ready for the responsibility of caring for a dog. We do not rush the process and are always here to guide you in making an informed decision. Ongoing Monitoring and Inspections: As part of our licensing, we undergo regular inspections by Central Bedfordshire Council, ensuring that our facilities meet the highest standards of cleanliness, safety, and animal welfare. We are constantly working to improve our practices to ensure that we provide the best environment for our dogs and puppies. Being a 5-star licensed breeder is something we take great pride in. It is a testament to our dedication to producing healthy, well-rounded and confident puppies whilst offering the highest level of care for our dogs. We are committed to responsible breeding, ethical practices, and ensuring that our puppies are placed in loving, forever homes.
  • Can I visit Bonnie Mini Doodles before placing a reservation?
We do not offer visits to our home before placing a reservation on a puppy. This policy is in place to ensure the safety of our home, our dogs, and to maintain a calm and controlled environment for our puppies. It’s also very important that you are absolutely certain about your decision to welcome a puppy into your life before you see a litter of adorable puppies on the ground. It’s easy to get swept up in the excitement of seeing a cute puppy which can sometimes lead to impulsive decisions that may not have been thoroughly thought through. We believe that getting a puppy should be a carefully considered, long-term commitment, and it’s vital to ensure that you are fully prepared for the responsibility. Instead, we follow a careful application process and offer puppy consultations via Zoom or Facetime. This allows us to have a thorough discussion with you about your application, ask each other questions, and show you around our facilities virtually. This approach helps us get to know each other better and ensures that you’re making an informed decision. We appreciate your understanding of this policy and are here to guide you through every step of the process.
  • Where are your puppies raised?
Our puppies are raised in our quiet family home, in a spacious open kitchen/dining area. We believe in setting them up for success by exposing them to the usual household sounds, including the washing machine, kitchen noises like cooking and dishwashing, the front door opening and closing, and the vacuum cleaner. We also make sure they get plenty of time outside to explore the garden and become accustomed to everyday sounds like planes, car alarms, lawnmowers, barking dogs, and tractors. This helps them become well-adjusted and prepared for life in a busy home environment.
  • What do you feed your puppies?
We are passionate about providing our puppies with the best nutrition from an early age, which is why we typically wean our puppies onto a raw food diet or a kibble that mimics the benefits of raw feeding, starting at the age of 3 weeks. This ensures that they are receiving the most bio-available, natural, and nutrient-dense food to support their growth and development. We strongly believe in the health benefits of raw feeding for dogs, as it closely mimics what they would naturally eat in the wild. Raw food is packed with high-quality proteins, essential fatty acids, and vitamins and minerals that help puppies grow strong, healthy, and energetic. This natural approach to feeding gives puppies the building blocks they need for optimal development. Some of the trusted raw food brands we use for our puppies include: Nutriment® We Love Raw® Eden Holistic® These brands have been carefully selected for their high-quality ingredients, ensuring that our puppies receive the best possible start in life. Each brand focuses on premium raw ingredients that offer a balanced diet for our puppies as they grow, ensuring their nutritional needs are fully met. By weaning onto raw food at 3 weeks, we provide our puppies with a healthy foundation for life. It also helps them become accustomed to high-quality, fresh food before they head off to their forever homes. We are committed to supporting our puppies' health and development through the best nutrition possible.

While we are not qualified dog trainers or behaviorists, we do have our own hands-on experience with Goldendoodles, which allows us to offer guidance based on what we’ve learned over the years. We understand that raising a puppy is a journey, and training is a huge part of that process. We are also excited to share that we are currently undergoing a mentorship program with a highly regarded dog trainer as part of our personal development and career change from our full time jobs. • Do you provide holiday boarding for when we go away?
Currently, we do not offer holiday boarding services for your puppy. However, it is something we are considering for the future, so please feel free to check back for updates as we explore the possibility. In the meantime, if you're looking for a safe and reliable place to board your puppy during your holiday, it's essential to ensure that any boarding facility you choose is licensed by their local council. A valid boarding license ensures that your pet is being cared for properly by trained staff in a facility that has been thoroughly inspected by both a vet and an animal welfare officer. These licensed facilities are required to follow strict protocols and adhere to the highest standards of care, so you can rest easy knowing your dog is in safe hands while you're away. • Can you export puppies abroad?
The process of exporting a puppy internationally involves complex logistics, including vaccinations, health certifications, and adherence to various regulations, all of which can vary significantly from country to country. As responsible breeders, we prioritise the health and well-being of our puppies, and we believe it’s best to ensure they stay within the UK to ensure a smoother, more secure transition to their new homes. For this reason we do not offer puppy export services to countries outside the UK.
